What makes a Malaysian...

So you think you're a malaysian? let's see if you fulfill all the criterias...

1) Manglish! A true Malaysian will always have a bit of english in everything they say..it just goes to show that we all love eating rojak so much that even our language is rojak! instead of saying jadi in our sentences, we say so. Instead of saying apa2 jelaa...we say whatever! and instead of saying dan to connect a sentence, we say and...seriously, when was the last time we heard the word dan used in a spoken sentence?

2) The L word...Which L word, i hear you ask? it's the indispensable, unbelievable..LAH! lol~ in fact, someone once posted a comment on youtube and used the word lah..she immediately got a reply asking whether she was malaysian! yeah, that's how malaysian the word lah is!

3) Food! Malaysians are very proud of their food. you can set up a gerai anywhere in malaysia(anywhere with people, la..) and it'll surely have customers. we just love to eat and ironically, we love eating at the wrong times..read, late at night. that's when all the mamak stalls open up right? it's just so malaysian to hang out with your pals late at night to watch football on the huge flat screen tv at your local mamak.

4) CD Copy... Honestly, we all know it's wrong. we all know it's killing the industry..but do we all actually care? pirated cds/dvds have adapted so well into our malaysian culture..i can't foresee when it will ever stop! it's such a good guilty pleasure..and it's so convenient! seriously, right? especially for us in terengganu..we don't have cinemas so we can't hang out at the movies. rather than wait for it to appear on astro, we might as well just get the copied version and boast that we've seen it before everyone else..right? ;)

5) Tuition! This has truly become a fad..it's like a trend on malaysia, isn't it? there's always at least one tuition class in the neighbourhood and like ten in the city! why do parents send kids to tuition classes anyway? some of them don't need it..seriously. they don't. for me, some classes are just places to get worksheets and make sure the kids do it. so the fee is basically just for rent. but i really shouldn't be saying this..cause it's bad for our business..right faidhi? lol~ no..our tuition centre really, sincerely aims at giving our students nothing but As! ;)

6) Hypocrites..blekk.. We always seem to hate each other, don't we? we never say please and thank you..we hardly ever smile to customers..we don't give up our seats on busses. we disregard everything about each other! but one mat salleh walks into the room and we're all smiles, right? come on lah..admit it! we're so kind to foreigners that they get fooled all the time! sometimes we're like a bunch of kids at home who are so nice when the guests arrive and get right back to work when they disappear! i've always wondered why we're not racist towards orang putih..but we're racist sometimes when it comes to each other..think about it..i mean technically, they're a different race too! so why are why are some of us so stupid sometimes?

So, is that all? is it that simple to be malaysians? well, we malaysians really are simple people..we're unique happy people despite all our flaws..
